Biography

Navid Norouzi - Persian Traditional Singer

Navid Norouzi was born in May 11th 1987 in Esfahan. By the time he turned 10, Navid learned Tonbak with master shahin sheikhbahaee. When he was 13, Navid started to learn playing star with Amir Masoud Amiri. The main turning point in his life is having close relationship with Master Ali Asghar Shahzeidi, great master of “Esfahan School of Singing”. He learned the Radif of Persian classical music with various masters including Ali Asghar nshahzeidi, Taghi Saeedi, Mansour Azamikiya. Due to his curiosity in Esfahan schools of singing, he has practiced styles of masters such as Taj Esfahani and Adib Khansari. In addition to his work as a performing artist, he recieved master of philosophy in Ethics from the “Saint Paul University” in Ottawa, Canada. In 2016, he established “Naghshe Jahan Symphonic Orchestra”. He made her first appearance on stage in Esfahan, He performed as singer with master Hesam’odin Seraj. Also he participated in few international projects, some multi-cultural (Iran, Canada) projects in Canada like: “Tirgan” and “Mehregan” festivals in Ottawa and Montreal. He has also some other recording projects such as cooperation with “National Orchestra Of Ukraine” in Kiev. Navid Norouzi is an artist deeply rooted in the tradition of Persian traditional singing, specially school of Esfahan which is well-known in Iranian cultural history. He has also curiosity and a large open-mindedness toward other cultures to combine Iranian traditional music with music of other cultures.
